This was one of the assignments of Kenny Roy's AnimGym, where one would focus on a single action. This is the reason why I didn't use a model of a horse, so that I could completely focus on the movement of the character. I added the cartoony background afterwards.

As a reference I used a clip from youtube. In the clip a real horse is used which of course participates in the movement of the character. Since the horse in my scene was a static object, this movement is not seen of course.
